Pekã Rasu & Family

Pekã Rasu

Pekã Rasu (55) is a spiritual leader of the Yawanawá people and the eldest son of the revered pajé Yawaraní. He was one of the last three students to receive the sacred Muká Samakei directly under his father’s guidance, an initiation that shaped his lifelong dedication to Yawanawá spirituality. Carrying forward his father’s legacy, Pekã Rasu founded the Pekã Rasu Center, a spiritual sanctuary deep in the Amazon, where people from around the world come for retreats, traditional diets, and initiations. His mission is rooted in preserving Yawanawá wisdom, protecting the forest, and guiding others on the path of healing and reconnection with Mother Earth.

Paka Shahu

The daughter of Pekã Rasu, Paka Shahu (22) grew up immersed in the traditions of her people. She carries her family’s lineage with grace and strength, offering her voice, music, and presence as medicine. Known for her powerful songs and her artistry in Kênes (sacred vision paintings), she expresses the spirit of her culture through body art, traditional jewellery, and intricate designs. A devoted mother, she balances her family life in Yawaraní with her role as a cultural bearer, sharing her joy, female force, and creative energy during journeys across Europe
